Who We Are
Outreach of El Paso is a non profit 501 © 3 organization established by volunteers, the majority of whom are individuals
or parents of children with hemophilia or vonWillebrands. Our goal is to provide education and support to individuals and
families who have a genetic blood disorder.
How We Got Started
The organization was founded by Lou Anne Helman-Fetters in 1993. A mother of a severe Hemophilia A son.
Lou Anne Helman-Fetters began looking for a support group but noticed that there was no organization in the El Paso area that
would provide any information or support for her or her family. Through a lot of research , hard work, and determination Lou
Anne started the Hemophilia Outreach of El Paso support group.
And now over 15 years later we still come together to serve the El Paso community and surrounding areas to provide
valuable information and resources to families and their loved ones.
What Can We Achieve By Coming Together?
The experiences that we have acquired as individuals or
by having a child or family member with Hemophilia or von-Willebrand can be very helpful and insightful to someone who feels
lost or overwhelmed.
By coming together one can avoid suffering alone and come to know that the faster you learn, the sooner you will
be able to help yourself, your child and your family.
